Too much swap space, and you are wasting your disk. Too little swap space and your system will grind to a halt spewing errors on the console. Too few swap disks and your system may run slowly. The author suggests ways to size and monitor swap space; what the measurements mean; and how to tell if it is a performance bottleneck.
