Exchange OWA Premium: Inbox not Loading

I came across a very unusual Exchange 2003 Front End, Back End issue today. There are hundreds of posts on the internet referencing it - with not many finding a solution short of reinstalling Exchange or Service Packs.

The issue comes when logging onto Exchange OWA via the FE server and selecting the Premium client. The Premium Client does not load, but instead loads the Basic client and refuses to display the inbox showing a message saying:


If the user logs onto the BE server directly and selects the Premium OWA client - it loads fine.

The issue is due to a difference in the BE and FE servers
C: \Program Files\Exchsvr\exchweb folder

This folder contains updates to the Exchweb webparts in folders named similar to 6.5.6994.0 and 6.5.7638.1. The problem came from the fact the BE server had additional folders or updates that the FE did not contain. By simply copying these update folders to the C: \Program Files\Exchsvr\exchweb on the FE server - OWA Premium client started to function again!
